Creating a UVic NetLink ID

Before you can apply for a NetLink-ID, you must have a UVic student number and you must be registered in at least one course. If this is your first course at UVic and you have not already received your UVic Student Number, contact the program area from which you are taking this course.

Create NetLink Account

  • Go to: https://netlink.uvic.ca. Click on "NetLink-ID: application form". Read through the agreement form, and click the "I agree to abide..." button at the bottom of the page.

  • Complete the eligibility test, by entering the following required information in the boxes.
    1. Your V-Number
    2. The first 3 letters of your last name
    3. Your year of birth
    4. The month & day of your birth
    When you have filled in all the boxes, click the “Continue” button.

  • Complete the “Application for a NetLink ID” form by entering your “V-Number” again, then entering what you would like for your Netlink ID and a password. Your choice of NetLink ID and password must conform to the requirements listed on the page.

    When you have filled in all the boxes. click the “Create NetLink ID” button.

    Record your NetLink ID and password information somewhere for future reference. Your NetLink ID is also your “access-key” to online library services.
